Drone Filming with DJI Mavic Pro 3

After many years without my own drone, I finally had the opportunity to invest in a DJI drone. I chose the DJI Mavic Pro 3, which features multiple cameras that allow for new types of perspectives. The potential uses for a drone are vast. I have often missed having a drone to establish new environments in a grand and interesting way. The bird’s-eye view does something to us; it provides an overview and context that we often miss. Many years ago, helicopters were needed to capture these unique vistas…

I’m particularly excited to try out new angles, perspectives, and movements that are typically complex to capture with a regular film camera. I have many ideas and concepts for films I want to produce with the drone. I’m really looking forward to exploring the drone further in the coming weeks. Drones are perfect for filming a person running or moving quickly forward. New tracking features allow the camera to capture stable and unique movements with ease.

To me, the combination of a DSLR and a drone is magical. It automatically elevates production quality when a few drone shots are added into the mix. For me, it’s essential to let the story remain central while using the drone as an add-on to create added value and extra dynamism in the film. I see drone filming as optimal for productions such as wedding films, travel videos, corporate films, and even documentaries.
